With ZHyRON approaching the end of its project lifetime, partners met on 11 September to review the work carried out so far and discuss the activities planned for the final phase.

ZHyRON partners met online on 11 September for the project’s General Assembly, reviewing the work carried out so far and discussing the activities planned for the final months of the project.

During the meeting, partners provided updates on the technical work being carried out across the project, including the optimisation of the cold agglomeration process, the hydrogen-based thermal reduction route used to produce Direct Reduced Iron, the treatment of wastewater and the recovery of zinc.

With ZHyRON set to conclude on 31 December 2026, the consortium is now moving into the final phase of the project. The remaining activities will focus on completing the technical work and on exploitation activities, including the study of viable business models and the potential uptake of the project’s results beyond its lifetime.

Further updates will follow as the project moves towards completion.
