Exploring industrial symbiosis between steel and zinc production: how could closer cooperation make their value chains more circular and resource-efficient?
ZHYRON took part in the EIT RawMaterials Expert Forum on Green & Circular Metals, held in Amsterdam at the end of September. The project was represented by Laurent Fraikin from CRM Group, alongside the project partners JGI-HYDROMETAL.
The forum gathered stakeholders from industry, research and policy to discuss how Europe can build a more circular and competitive metals value chain. Within these discussions, ZHYRON contributed to the exchange on the largely untapped potential for industrial symbiosis between iron and steelmaking and zinc production. Closer cooperation between the two sectors could help make their value chains more circular, sustainable and resource-efficient.
