At EHEC 2026 in Seville, ZHyRON highlighted how hydrogen can drive more circular and resource-efficient steel production through innovative by-product valorisation.

ZHyRON took part in the European Hydrogen Energy Conference 2026, held in Seville from 11 to 13 March, bringing together leading experts, researchers, and industry stakeholders to exchange knowledge and discuss the future of hydrogen technologies.

During the event, CIRCE, the project’s technical coordinator, presented the latest developments of the project through the contribution Hydrogen as the key enabler for circular steel production: The ZHYRON project approach to by-product valorization.

The presentation highlighted how ZHyRON is exploring the role of hydrogen in making steel production more circular and resource-efficient, with a focus on the valorisation of industrial by-products.

The conference paper is now available in Open Access and can be found in the Resources section of this website.
